Le violoniste tzigane Roby Lakatos n'est pas seulement un virtuose incomparable, il est aussi un musicien à la versatilité stylistique exceptionnelle.
Aussi à l'aise dans les répertoires classique, jazz ou hongrois, Lakatos est l'un des rares musiciens à dépasser les frontières de son art. On parle de lui comme un violoniste tzigane, un « démon du violon », un virtuose classique, un improvisateur jazz, un compositeur et arrangeur, un survivant du XIXème siècle, et il est en effet tout cela à la fois.

Gypsy violinist Roby Lakatos is not only an incomparable virtuoso, he is also a musician of exceptional stylistic versatility.
Equally at home in the classical, jazz and Hungarian repertoires, Lakatos is one of the few musicians to transcend the boundaries of his art. He is referred to as a gypsy violinist, a "violin demon", a classical virtuoso, a jazz improviser, a composer and arranger, a survivor of the 19th century, and he is indeed all of these things at once.
